Week Four-
In my last week of observations, its remarkable what has changed in my micro aquarium in just five weeks. The plant life in my ecosystem has dramartically changed. Where at the start of observations there was only plant life concentrated in a small area, now the plant life is all around the aquarium. There has been a significant amount of colonial algea spreading throughout, mostly filamentous. I have seen a lot of Volvox, as well as seeing a stentor. The life in my aquarium is also much more diverse. I saw a number of amoebas this week, varying in size. They were mostly around the open part of the aquarium. There were also a great deal Euglenas and Euplotes. I also saw vorticella, mostly around the plants. There was also a significant amount of diatoms in my microaquarium, both living and dead.

Week Three-
This week in my microaquarium, I saw a few changes in my little ecosystem. There was still a great deal of growth in my green algea, as nearly all the area surrounding the original part of green algea had seen a signifcant growth in the plant. There was also some growth in the duckweed too, as it has appeared to grow denser. The organisms living in my microaquarium are pretty much the same as the week before. There were a few more amoebas that i viwed this week, as opposed to last week when I only saw one. The greatest change this week was in the amount of diatoms I viewed this week. Where as last week I only saw small numbers of the organisms, this week I saw a huge amount of this group. They were some in both the middle and top of the container, but the vast majority appeared at the bootom of the microaquarium.

Week 2
This week there were a few changes that I noticed when viewing my ecosystem. First, most of my plant life remained the same. The duck weed that is in my ecosystem appears to be relatively the same. There does, however, appear more algea in the system. The new algea is not nearly as dense as in the original parts of the system, but upon viewing the the container under a microscope, the algea is slowly spreading out. The major change that I have noticed in my ecosystem in the amount of animal life in my ecosystem. In week one I only viewed a few protists but, this week, I not only viewed more, I also saw much more diversity. This diversity includes seeing amoebas, euglena, and parameian aurelia. I viewed almost all of these organisms in and around the plant growth, although there were some life around the top of the water. I also viewed what appeared to be a nematode at the bottom of my ecosystem in the dirt.

Week One-
I obtained my water from the sample that was from the pond right next to University Medical Center. The plants that are in my sample include a significant amount of algea. I also have duckweeed in the sample, as well as a few pieces of leaf. My sample appears about the same as it did when I first put it together. There has not been very much plant developement. I also have not seen very more animal life in my sample. I still viewed a few protists and some amoeba like specimens but, in general, not much has changed from the first week.
